What the world needs now is love and ‘Ladybird,’ the new full-length album by Mehuman, is the collection of beautifully crafted songs to remind us, Right as Rain and rooted in Gospel, Blues, and Country, Mehuman reinforces her folky crafted lyrics with downright soul on her latest album ‘Ladybird.’ Mehuman guides the listener through a refreshing and deep personal perspective on life, love, and loss.

Mehuman melts multiple genres into relevant Americana and her inherited “Affrilachian -Roots Music” with an undeniably distinct vocal performance. Influenced by a blend of genres and styles, Mehuman has a sound that is un-mistakenly her own. Inspired by Nina Simone and Bono, she offers a distinct perspective on addressing injustice and making the world a better place.

After completing the successful release of three powerful singles; ‘Ladybird’ the title track, ‘Days Like This,’ and ‘Child of God,’ Mehuman gives us with the full story of hope and redemption by sharing the full collection. Already hailed as “songs of hope, “beautifully honest” and “the remedy” for a sometimes cruel and turbulent world, Mehuman offers us a personal window to witness what is, by far, her most authentic and vulnerable work to date.

The recording and production of ‘Ladybird’ took place at The Halo Studio, in Maine, with her team producer Darren Elder and mixed & mastered by Kevin Billingslea. As a key creative contributor Laurie Jones (of Bad Mother Hype, and gifted singer songwriter,) co-produced Mehuman's vocal performances with incredible insight and managed a successful PR campaign for “Ladybird.

“I wrote all the songs independently and as we were reviewing a pool of about thirty songs, we noticed a theme of love and loss in nine of the tracks.” Mehuman shares. “Over the two years it has taken to release this album, those themes are still my experience. Creating this music has provided me with comfort and my hope is it offers the same to the listener.” 

Mehuman, who splits time between Maine and Nashville, has performed with Joy Clark, Yasmine Williams, Dom Williams, Ani DiFranco, Ruthie Foster, Luka Bloom, G-Love, Jimmy Gnecco, Rufus Wainwright, and others. A prolific SESAC songwriter and former Arista Records artist, Mehuman blazes her own trail with persistence and grace.
