I wrote the title track "Ladybird" for my Mother.

Mom was the first person to inspire and comfort me. She was "the first" in many things as an Afro Indigenous woman and a trailblazer, in the face of constant adversity. Mom was a "straight A" student, Registered Nurse, Minister, and Poet. She played piano and loved to sing. Mom had style and was an absolute beauty.

I also wrote Ladybird for myself for when I feel like I have failed or fallen short of my goals and dreams.

Ladybird is a love letter to all the women who continue to enrich my life. Ladybird is an expression of gratitude to all my supporters which includes great men like my sweet Dad, that have championed me.

We all need encouragement. We all need hope. I wrote Ladybird for you.
