Ladybird is the title track that I wrote for my Mom after she transitioned in 2018. She was brilliant and beautiful. She love my Dad, her 10 children, and medicine. She was a poet, author, and never took "no" for an answer. I wanted more of her than was available, but what I had, still have from her,...still resonates. I hope to become half the woman she achieved. I wish I had known her as friend and not just my Mom. We would have had more fun together, and she would have worried less for me. I still remember her warmth and the strength of character in her tiny physical frame....and the ease at which she forgave people even when they didn't merit it. Mom used to quote the Bible about being "saved by grace" and often reminded us to be grateful....and today I am whenever I think of her.
